The residential neighbourhood Laaneveere is situated on the outskirts of Tallinn, in Viimsi Municipality at the Viimsi Peninsula, which still has Estonia’s fastest-growing population. A thick forest grows on the 15.5ha territory: for this development, the woods were also the primary pre-existing local element that was to be preserved and emphasized. The principle behind the structures’ design-solution is the maximal concentration and densification of the building zones as well as the parking and inner-plot driveways, thus maintaining the valuable greenery that surrounds the plots as much as possible. The residential neighbourhood is close to the sea, but also shielded from the wind by an old-growth pine forest. Nearby are all the life-essentials: day-cares, schools, athletic structures, and shopping centres.
